The Business Booster Academy (BBA) is an online learning platform to further professionalize business development experts and entrepreneurs. with a specific focus on impact investing in emerging economies.
We offer both tools and training. Tools such as a thorough financial model, validation canvas, investment process, and a bookkeeping system for SMEs. These tools can strengthen the companies you support and/ or your private sector development programs.
The BBA e-learning modules train business development experts and / or portfolio companies to use and implement the tools. All our content is based on experience and best practises of BBA’s own staff and companies. This results in hands-on, practical courses, including real-life examples.
We work for experts working with companies: origination managers, investment managers, business developers etc. and the entrepreneurs of start-ups or early-growth SMEs.
Purpose of the Job
The Business Booster Academy started in 2015 and was designed based on the needs of the Agribusiness Booster and iMPACT Booster to train its staff and entrepreneurs. The BBA was officially launched in 2017 for external use and quickly attracted its first customers. The Academy Manager is responsible for a successful, profitable international scale up of the Business Booster Academy. (S)he is the commercial driver of the Business Booster Academy and will also coordinate the development of new e-learning modules that foster and encourage learning and improve the capabilities of Business Developers and Entrepreneurs. The Academy manager will further build a team of e-learning development experts, trainers and facilitators.
Main Responsibilities and Results
Marketing and Sales
Promote the different products of the Academy, including training, methods and tools. This includes networking, presentations at relevant events and promotion through our partner networks. Sell and deal making with potential clients.
Coordination of development of E-learning Modules
Coordinate the development of new e-learning modules in close collaboration with internal and external clients. Ensure that those trainings fulfil the needs and are adapted to learning style of these clients
Execution of E-learning Modules
Coordinate the execution of the e-learning modules to both external clients as well as to AbB and iMPACT Booster staff and entrepreneurs. This includes facilitating plenary sessions and coordinate our pool of trainers.
Starting Date and Place
1st of January 2018. The position is based in Utrecht, with part of the job carried out at the New World Campus in The Hague.
Required Knowledge and Experience
● At least 5 years of relevant working experience in e-learning/training
● Good grasp of learning theories and didactics is an asset
● Sales skills and deal making ability
● Able to develop and cocreate e-learning modules together with the internal and external clients
● Strong business acumen, skills to persuade and result-driven
● Ability to work independently in international, multi-disciplinary teams of professionals
● Proactive, can-do attitude and creative
● Excellent communication skills in Dutch, English and preferably Spanish
● Preferably affinity and network within the impact investment sector
What do we offer?
You will be part of the larger Agribusiness Booster and iMPACT Booster team. We offer good terms of employment commensurate with a social enterprise. We offer a one-year contract of a minimum of four days per week, with the intention to renew. The salary will range between 3,200 and 5,000 per month on a full-time basis.
